Southwest Engineers since 1978 has worked on thousands of exciting and interesting projects throughout the state.
These projects have included a variety of different fields including:
- Surface water treatment
- Ground water treatment
- Brackish ground water desalination
- Reverse Osmosis water treatment
- Arsenic removal from water supplies
- Wastewater treatment
- Wastewater permitting
- Water distribution and transmission systems
- Wastewater collection systems
- Lift stations
- Water booster stations
- Elevated and ground water storage facilities
- Hydropneumatic pressure tank facilities
- Street design
- Drainage structure design
- Drainage studies
- Water wells
- Environmental assessments
Here is a sampling of some of our projects.
Water Projects
County Line Water Supply Corporation
1,000,000 Gallon Elevated Storage Tank
County Line is located in the rapidly growing region South of Austin along the IH 35 corridor.
In 2006, Southwest Engineers provided design and construction administration services for this multi-leg elevated
storage tank located off FM 150 and East of IH 35 near Kyle.
This tank is projected to provide sufficient elevated storage capacity for the next 10-20 years for the W.S.C.
Aqua Texas, Inc.
Southwest Engineers completed a multitude of projects for this investor owned water supply throughout Texas.
Projects have included a number of small water booster stations, water distribution mains, emergency generators,
ground water filtration plants, gravity wastewater collection lines, pressure wastewater collection lines,
wastewater force mains, and wastewater lift stations.
These projects have been located throughout northern and central Texas.
Windermere Water Supply Corporation
Water Treatment Plant
Planning began in 2006 for additional plant capacity for this rural Lake Travis Community.
Southwest Engineers proposed and designed a package plant to complement the existing treatment
plant and increase the capacity to Windermere's maximum population capability based on the available land in the community.
The plant began production in 2008.
Camp Longhorn
Water Treatment Plant
Southwest Engineers assisted in the completion of a water plant expansion for the Camp to meet current rules
and provide the needed water supply required for normal operation and satisfy the projected needs for the next 25 years.
This project included construction of a flocculation/sedimentation basin to treat surface water out of Inks Lake.
Wastewater Projects
Bruni Rural W.S.C.
First Time Wastewater System
Provided preliminary design, engineering design, and construction administration services for the project to
provide a centralized wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment plant for the community of Bruni.
This project was funded through a grant through USDA and RUS and was placed in service in 2006.
Batesville W.S.C.
Wastewater Collection and Treatment System
Southwest Engineers assisted Batesville in obtaining funding through the
TWDB EDAP program for providing first time centralized wastewater service.
Primary wastewater treatment is provided through new onsite septic tanks at each home; with the effluent
collected through small collection lines that transport the wastewater to a secondary lagoon treatment plant.
This low technology (and low operating cost) system,
only the second major facility of its kind in the state (both designed by SEI),
is ideal for communities that are far away from large metropolitan areas and have limited operations budgets.
These facilities were placed into service in 2007.
Street and Drainage Projects
City of Stockdale
Emergency Drainage Improvements
After floods caused damage to the City's streets, channels and other facilities in early 2007,
the City obtained emergency funding to correct some deficiencies and address the damage.
Southwest Engineers assisted in funding acquisition, preliminary and final design, and construction administration on this project.
Mt. Wesley Conference Center-Kerrville
Street Relocation and Drainage Improvements
Southwest Engineers provided preliminary design, engineering design,
and construction administration services for relocating a City of Kerrville street
and improving drainage to allow for expansion of the Conference Center.
This project was funded through donations to the Center.
