Southwest Engineers was founded in 1978 by two friends and engineers, Clarence Littlefield and Jim Wundt. Initially setting out to centralize water systems in rural Texas, their work paved the way for a legacy we still uphold today: practicing civil engineering to improve quality of life. Our focus on the values of family, gratitude and good work have been commonplace since Clarence’s son, John Littlefield was 16 and assisting on surveying jobs and lending a hand around the office while completing school.
Fast forward past graduation, John’s professional growth and natural leadership skills welcomed a new era for the company, expanding into land development to service the central Texas boom. For decades we remained steady in our endeavors, designing subdivisions, mixed-use developments, community centers and institutions out of our Buda office, while our Gonzales team continued to assist utility districts, municipalities, counties and other entities in the quest for reliable water systems. Fast forward again to 2020 and we were still working *albeit remotely and in solidarity with the state of the world* yet nonetheless were fortunate to continue supporting our team and clients through the pandemic, something we don’t ever take for granted. More recently we have refreshed our gratitude after adding more talent, promoting from within and celebrating a new division and branch in Land & ROW Acquisition now operating out of Bastrop. Though it’s hard to sum up over forty years of history, you can keep up with us more regularly via Instagram. Thank you to our team, partners and clients. Together we look forward to more lessons and milestones as we turn 45 this coming September!
